Another Excellent Revival at Glorious Goodwood

This weekend saw the Goodwood Revival take place at Lord March's Goodwood racetrack in south England. With the spirit of the 50s on display with racing, aircraft and people in classical dress, its not hard to see why this is the highlight of many motor racing fans' years.

Only at the Revival can a visitor see a Ferrari 250GTO being driven at full speed around a circuit during the 1 hour Tourist Trophy race, then go and see the car up close and personal in the paddock?

We bumped into expert classic car broker Dion Speak from Elms Collection, who said that “the effort and attention to detail that the organisers out into the event every year never ceases to impress me. For me its the motoring diary event highlight of the year”.

The cars really are the highlight, as Dion explains. “It's fantastic to see these, sometimes irreplaceable, motor cars and bikes doing battle on the circuit with no quarter given in the manner that their designers would have wanted. A heated garage with an annual trip to the MOT station is no way to treat one of these magnificent machines”.

The RAC Tourist Trophy race is the highlight for many. In Sunday's race, the Jaguar Lightweight E-Rype of Adrian Newey claimed victory after an excellent race and multiple changes of leadership.

Overall an excellent weekend and watching the Vulcan Bomber doing a display in the early afternoon was just surreal.
