Dock n Roll with Alpine for luxury in car entertainment
Most luxury cars have navigation and entertainment systems that are bettered by a £100 system bought off the high street. Even some mobile phones have better devices. Companies such as Alpine have capitalised on this and produced solutions for the luxury car owner looking for a suitably luxury entertainment and navigation system.
It's possible to spend a few grand and have a dvd and navigation install in a car. This works great in most scenarios. However, its not perfect and restricts navigation to only the car with the install. So Alpine have developed a fully integrated system using their portable satellite navigation system, the Blackbird, and their in-car audio devices.
The new Dock 'n' Roll is this set-up.
Their Mobile Media Stations have long been a favourite for the high end in-car audio install. Most factory setups are far from brilliant, so having a custom install is the best way to improve in-car entertainment. Alpine are also aware that separate navigation systems are often far superior to car manufacuters' own efforts. So they've linked the two.
The first half of the system is their Mobile Media Station, which gives high end CD, DVD, iPod and MP3 entertainment in the car. The second half is their Blackbird portable navigation. When docked together, the two units work together to provide an 7 inch screen within the car, whilst keeping the navigation unit as a portable device for using in other vehicles.

Did Russian billionaire buy 496 million euro property?
Recently, it was reported that Villa Leopolda was sold to a Russian billionaire for just under 500 million euros. It soon revealed that Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov was behind the sale. As is the habit with Russian oligarchs, Prokhorov made his billions in precious metals. In 2007 he launched a $17 billion private investment fund, so he was definitely wealthy enough to purchase the property.
