Ferrari to launch convertible 430 Scuderia – the 16M
Ferrari to launch convertible 430 Scuderia called the 16M
It's been rumoured for a while now, but it seems Ferrari are to release a Spyder version of their hardcore 430, the Scuderia. This will be called the 16M and limited to 499 vehicles. The car is to commemorate the company's 16th F1 constructor's title.
There are cynical rumours that the car has only been released due to a lot of spare 430 spyder chassises being left over, but come on, the Scuderia is a superb car and removing the roof can only make it sound even better. It's the fastest open top road car ever to go around Fiorana.
To further celebrate the win, you can order the car with a tricolour livery as part of the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalisation Programme, which is just a bit of a mouthful to say! The car has a special plaque on the rear grille and just above the air vents on the centre of the dashboard.
The rollbar now has a carbon fibre outer shell, and the audio system will be combined with a customised Apple iPod Touch. We at Lusso will only be listening to the glorious V8 engine though! Which happens to produce 503bhp and will push the 16M to 60mph in just 3.7 seconds and onto 195mph.
It will annoy the purists for sure, but personally, for a Italian mountain road in the summer, I couldn't think of a finer car to take.
