BladeRun Power Boat Rally 2007. Puerto Banus to Ibiza
On Sunday 23rd September 2007, the world famous Ocean Club Marbella played host to the BladeRun Send Off Party for participants, specially invited guests and celebrity DJs. As the Mayor of Marbella dropped the flag the machines opened their throttles leaving spectators in their wake.
Around 30 boats carrying 120 participants stormed off leaving onlookers watching 20,000 horsepower of roaring powerboats thunder across 383 nautical miles of the Med towards the party capital of Europe, Ibiza.
The terrace at El Divino was the setting for the BladeRun Awards Party, where the prizes were handed out to the many participants of the rally.
BladeRun was founded by Duncan Scholes, an ex Gumball 3000 Rally organiser, who has approached this powerboating event with a lifestyle twist combining lavish parties, interesting places, and fantastic boats.
BladeRun echoes the great history of races such as the London to Monte Carlo in 1972, entry offers the chance to brush shoulders with the talented, daring and purely insane!
